Death Battle PPG vs Crystal Gems Prelude Part 2

THE CRYSTAL GEMS

Chan- Several thousand years ago, Homeworld Gems arrived on Earth and created the "Kindergarten", a facility used to produce new Gems via Injectors. This process was very invasive and damaging to the planet; the gestating Gem draining the life force out of the surrounding area in order to grow.

Lee- Then a gem by the name of Rose Quartz believed this was unfair to the life already present, and instigated a rebellion which would become the Crystal Gems. Little is known about the ensuing war, simply known as The Rebellion, other than that it ended with all but a few of Rose's closest friends being destroyed, and the Homeworld Gems being driven off Earth, which was then cut off from Gem-controlled space by destroying the Galaxy Warp.

Chan- For about 5,000 years, the remaining Crystal Gems have used their abilities to defend Earth from countless Gem based threats. However, Rose, as a great admirer of humanity, gave up her physical form to give birth to a half-human child, Steven Universe. The other remaining Crystal Gems, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl, have taken it upon themselves to raise and teach him how to use his powers.

Lee- But since Steven doesn't know how to use his powers fully he's not gonna be fighting anyone.

GARNET

Chan- When Rose Quartz gave up her physical form Garnet became the de facto leader of the group

Lee- Though she's often the most pragmatic and straight forward of the Crystal Gems, Garnet tends to act on intuition rather than seriously analyze a situation

Chan- While not outright invincible, it is shown that Garnet is the most physically durable of the Gems. She endures all sorts of different levels of damage from falling cars to fighting Jasper and various other forms of physical force.

Lee- When channeling the collective power of the universe through her gems, Garnet is able to summon a pair of crimson gauntlets. Garnet is highly proficient when using her gauntlets and is extremely skilled in hand to hand combat. She is able to deal massive strikes that can easily shatter the earth and deliver swift blows with lightning speed.

Chan- Garnet can take aim with her gauntlets and shoots them as projectiles, however her hands are detached from her body, and her gems are moved to the stubs of her arms.

Lee- She is able to increase the size of her gauntlets, easily quadrupling their size, and deal increased damage at the cost of reduced speed and see into the future

Chan- Not exactly Garnet can see multiple future outcomes and probabilities with her third eye this includes extremely unlikely and ridiculous outcomes and it's up to her to decide which one's right

Lee- This ability does take some time to use, as she has been shown in a thinking position when activating it. During that time, someone can alter the future.

Chan- Garnet is there natural leader for a reason

AMETHYST

Chan- As one of the Gems manufactured on Earth as a part of the Gem Homeworld's Kindergarten project, Amethyst is one of the last surviving Gems on Earth to join the Crystal Gems.

Lee- Out of the Crystal Gems, Amethyst is the least likely to rely on her weapon in combat, instead relying on her martial art skills to deal with any threat

Chan-  Amethyst is, by far, the most frequent user of shape-shifting, which she uses to enhance her unarmed fighting. She may shape-shift into her wrestling alter-ego, the Purple Puma, or take on more bizarre forms, depending on the task at hand.

Lee- Oh yeah we forgot to mention that all gems can shape-shift

Chan- Amethyst bears a multi-tailed dark violet whip able to take on one, two, or three tails depending on the task at hand.

Lee-  She uses her whip to lash at opponents and cause damage that is strong enough to easily split a dumpster in half. Her lashes are sometimes so precise that it cuts through objects cleanly in a straight line.

Chan- Occasionally, she uses her whip to grab onto objects, or lift the object, such as boulders, and throw them at the enemy

Lee- Amethyst can send waves of purple energy along her whip(s) in order to create an immense explosion.

Chan- Amethyst has the ability to eat glass, plastic, paper, etc. and is able to digest it without getting sick or disgusted.

Lee- Odd

Chan-  Amethyst is able to use her hair to slash at an enemy with such potency it severs the claw of a Crab Gem Monster.

Lee- She can also rapidly roll in a ball-like shape to attack enemies with her Spin Dash, Why does that look so familiar?

Chan-  However her fighting-style can sometimes be considered reckless and foolhardy, but she's definitively one tough cookie.

PEARL

Lee- Pearl is a perfectionist with a wide range of knowledge on many topics who values organization with a penchant for symmetry.

Chan- Despite her intelligent and calm demeanor, Pearl is easily flustered and overwhelmed when confronted by something she does not understand or when her plans fail, which can lead to her judgement being clouded or causing her to act without thinking.

Lee- Pearl has really low self-confidence and is very dependent on others to validate her, which loops into a strong inferiority complex

Chan- Pearl has been shown to have knowledge in multiple aspects of technology, from fixing Greg's Van, to making a semi-functioning spacecraft out of leftover machine parts, to fixing Peridot's Escape Pod and even reverse-engineering it to track Peridot's movements.

Lee- While Pearl is lithe and quite graceful, she has surprising resilience to injury, she took an explosion from Amethyst's whip directly and was fine almost immediately after, despite being briefly immobilized and scratched.

Chan- Through her many years of training, Pearl is able to summon her weapon, a pearlescent spear. Pearl is very skilled in the art of spear-wielding, and goes in tandem with her pattern of fighting that involves dancing. She moves gracefully and swiftly, attacking with grace and poise. She handles herself well in melee skirmishes.

Lee- Pearl is capable of wielding dual spears in battle, implying she may be ambidextrous. Her spear is revealed to have a range attack, which is seen as an energy blast, this can be done as rapid-fire, or charged to unleash a more powerful blast . In addition to these functions, it's also shown that Pearl can throw her spear.

Chan- Pearl can clone herself and use her Holo Pearls to attack enemies

Lee- Pearl is able to channel clouds in the direction of her choice, able to gather clouds surrounding the arena around her to create a fine mist, reducing visibility and able to quickly dissipate it.

Chan- While limited as far as we know she can also control sand

Lee- She can levitate but only temporarily

Chan- Pearl is the most weapon proficient member of the Crystal Gems

OPAL

Lee- Now lets get into the good stuff............ Fusion

Chan- Gems can fuse together to form more powerful gems even Garnet herself is a fusion between gems Ruby and Sapphire.

Lee- Pearl and Amethyst can fuse to form Opal, She is very agile and graceful, being able to stand on the tips of her toes and execute acrobatic reflexes. Opal is also shown to be able to leap considerable distances and "skate" or "glide" across the ground. She can also walk on water.

Chan- Opal's weapon is an opalescent longbow that fires arrows made of a light-based energy. The bow is roughly as tall as Opal herself.

Lee- Due to Opal being a fusion of Amethyst and Pearl, she can summon either Amethyst's whip or Pearl's spear at will. She fuses both weapons together to form her bow. Pearl's spear makes up the limbs of the bow while the lash of Amethyst's whip becomes the string.

Chan- Her arrows are summoned when the bow is drawn back, and these arrows cause a large explosion which emit a bright light on impact, as well as bearing a striking resemblance to the energy blasts that Pearl's spear is capable of. The arrows are also capable of splitting into several smaller arrows and attacking multiple targets at once.

SUGILITE

Lee- When Amethyst and Garnet fuse they form Sugilite an absolute juggernaut in combat,

Chan- Sugilite uses her sheer strength to smash objects and size to overpower and crush any opponents!

Lee- Though not as acrobatic and nimble as Opal, Sugilite makes up for it by sheer size; her long legs allows her to cover a lot of ground quickly and leap long distances

Chan-  Her weapon is an enormous flail that uses Amethyst's whip as a chain, and Garnet's clasped gauntlets as a bludgeon. Using this weapon, Sugilite easily smashes through buildings, reducing a defunct Gem Communications Hub to rubble. Due to the sheer size of the weapon and the length of the chain, this gives much longer range than traditional melee weapons - much like Amethyst's whip.

Lee- Sugilite can twist two of her arms together to deliver a devastating punch. Her only weakness is her recklessness and being able to be outsmarted.

SARDONYX

Chan- Pearl and Garnet can fuse to form Sardonyx

Lee- When in battle, Sardonyx is both graceful and accurate, but also powerful and rather playful, messing with her opponents or audience with tricks and jokes. Despite this, she is usually quite tactical, thinking things up before acting, in order to make things perfectly.

Chan-  Sardonyx can combine Garnet's gauntlets and put them on the end of Pearl's spear facing outwards to make a hammer. Her use of the war hammer is methodical in approach. She uses precise, keen strikes on specific areas to inflict the most damage while also reducing the amount of effort needed to take down a structure or opponent. She describes herself, and therefore her style of combat, as "specific, intelligent, accurate, faultless, elegant, controlled, surgical, graceful, and powerful!"

Lee- By rapidly spinning the top part of her hammer, Sardonyx is able to transform her weapon into a drill that could easily break through walls.

ALEXANDRITE

Chan- Alexandrite is a massive fusion between all 3 Crystal Gems

Lee- Alexandrite can travel at extreme speeds. She has enough strength to lift weighted objects, like a bus, with ease.

Chan- According to Garnet Alexandrite is an incredible force on the battlefield. When Pearl, Amethyst and Garnet fuse together with a singular goal, they are unstoppable.

Lee- She controls all the gem weapons including fusion weapons like Sardonyx's war hammer , and she hardly enters the battlefield due to  difficulty fusing into Alexandrite actually takes.

WEAKNESSES

Chan- Also the gems bodies are actually projections generated by there gemstones. Think of it like a hologram, but with mass

Lee-  Though gems are extraordinarily resilient, if they're seriously hurt, they will release their physical form and poof back to just their gem.

Chan-This way, they can most efficiently put all of their energy into regenerating themselves and as long as the gemstones aren't damaged, the Gems will be able to regenerate

Lee- But, if a gem's gemstone is cracked, things get weird and if a Gem's gem is shattered completely, they die

Chan- But fused or not these Gems are protectors of the Earth and are damn good at doing so


Chan- All right the combatants are set let's end this debate once and for all
